One of the perks of working at a Christian radio station is occasionally being allowed to pre-screen Christian movies weeks before they are released in theaters. Two years ago my colleagues and I were able to see the movie I Can Only Imagine a month before it was released in theaters. (You can see my review here.) Last week we were invited to pre-screen another Christian movie coming out soon called I Still Believe.

I Still Believe is the story of singer/songwriter Jeremy Camp and his wife Melissa. As with I Can Only Imagine, I don’t want to give away the story line if you are unfamiliar with Jeremy and Melissa’s journey. But I will say this: take the tissues. Go see it, but take the tissues. Trust me on this. Take. Tissues.

Since I knew a good bit of the story before I saw it, I was somewhat prepared for the emotions that I knew would be stirred by the movie. It is well done. It is well acted. It is a good movie about a beautiful story. I just want you to be prepared to cry. (Take tissues!)

All the themes are there: love, pain, redemption, loss, and ultimately, hope. It will definitely get all the feels going.

Again, since I don’t want to give any spoilers, I feel like my hands are a bit tied trying to tell you about the movie. Jeremy and Melissa’s story has encouraged literally millions around the world, and I believe that it will encourage you, too. Eventually. After you finish wiping your tears and blowing your nose.

But seriously, if you have ever struggled through dark trials or deep tragedy, you will relate to what Jeremy and Melissa go through in the film. The hope found in the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ is what Jeremy and Melissa’s story is all about. The precious promises of God found in His Word anchor our souls through the storms of life.

I Still Believe is released in theaters on March 13. Please go see it and let me know what you think.
